I've never actually watched an episode of the original TV series Starsky and Hutch, so I can't comment on how much of a travesty the movie is compared to the show. I imagine it pokes fun at just about all of the clich??s from the show, and no doubt in such a manner as to annoy any fan of the TV show.

That warning aside, I liked the movie. I found the humor well executed enough to keep my interest and keep me laughing throughout the movie. Stiller and Wilson really pull off the buddy copy aspect of the story. The story itself is simple enough, it's basically a prequel to the TV show, and we get to see how the two characters meet and become a crime fighting duo. Simple enough to not got too involved in itself, and fun enough to make it enjoyable.

If you passed on this movie because you're tired of 70s movies being remade, I'd suggest giving it a go
