Before I review this movie, let me point out as a rule I don't like violent flicks. While I sat through all of Pulp Fiction, I hated it, it was simply too mindless violent, in my opinion.

This isn't much different. It's main saving grace is the violence in the film is so completely over the top as to be almost comical. We follow "The Bride" as she seeks revenge against a gang of assassins that killed everyone at her wedding, but only left her in a coma.

The end result is a bunch of kung-fu scenes, stitched together with a plot that takes us from one movie style to another on this ride. Watching the movie interleave different styles almost seamlessly is interesting. When the movie ends in the middle of a plot, it's rather disappointing, but then again, since I'm not sure I'll bother watching Vol. 2, maybe it did me a favor by ending early.
