on November 9, 2003This is really a very cookie-cutter action flick. It's incredibly predictable from one scene to the next. Having said that, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Jason Statham does a good job playing the stoic hero with enough humanity that you end up caring what happens to him. As the predictable story progresses, the action elements are fun, and believable.
In an age when Matrix and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon have taught us that martial arts' experts can fly when they need to this is a refreshing movie to watch. Not the worlds best, but quirky and appealing enough to keep you interested.
