Then there was a story. Woo. I'm sure die-hard fans of the comic book will appreciate the story, but I just never got that excited about it. I think it was trying to impart a sins-of-the-father fall to the son sort of thing going. In the end, it just exploded into some gibberish that made no sense, and I lost all interest. For the most part, this is a fun popcorn flick, but after seeing how good a job can be done with Spiderman, I was somewhat disappointed by this by-the-numbers conversion that screamed: "Go buy the videogame after the movie!"
