This movie is a good idea looking for a good plot.

It presents a good enough basic idea, that a super-assassin would spurn his programming when he hits his personal breaking point. It's told in an interesting fashion, similar to Memento, the main character doesn't know the entire plot, and we end up relying on sub-plots to fill us in what's going on.

Sadly, though, it just doesn't pull it off. The sub-plots are a little too cheesy, and in the end, the overall story feels forced, and it really feels like there are tons of elements left out of the plot to make it simpler. And to top it off, we have scenes full of eye candy that felt thrown in just to satisfy the blockbuster loving crowd.

The movie is based on book by Robert Ludlum. I think I'll give the book a try, it really felt like the book is probably a better story and the movie just chopped it up too much to make it palatable. I doubt it can be much worse than the movie.
