Tuxedo, The Release Year: 2002 Average Rating: Last Reviewed On: March 17, 2003 (by Scott) (DVD version) Scott's Review: on March 17, 2003 This movie is bad. Granted, though, most of the time Jackie Chan movies aren't exactly great cinematic treasures. This one, however, doesn't even work as a good Jackie Chan flick. The plot is non-existent, and the support characters are flat. Sure, you're thinking, this is just what you'd expect for a Chan flick. But then you'd be expecting some cute humor, and lots of Chan action. Both of those are sorely missing from this flick. The humor is low-brow American humor, and the action, what little there is, is almost all wire and other FX type action, totally destroying the fun of watching Jackie Chan dance around. Somehow it was compelling enough that I stayed around for the end of it, but I was nevertheless happy when it finally, mercifully, ended. -- Scott and Michelle |
