on January 9, 2003Heinlen is an amazing author to read. He does an amazing job of showing how uncivilized human nature can be, and how many people are really a slave to something, be it another person, family, friends, work, or money.
Social commentary aside, the book is fun. It's hard to put this book down, since you get so engrossed in Thorby's struggle for freedom. You really feel for him, and the various other auxiliary characters. As with all of Heinlein books, I highly recommend this one, pretty much regardless of what you feel of the subject matter.
