This is a very well acted and plotted story. It's a rather simple story of a man who hit a bit of a bad luck, and runs into some money to perform a job. The basic plot is simple enough, but there are enough twists and turns to keep things very interesting. And, at least for me, none of the twists seemed too forced or obvious, with the possible exception of the first one.

Nicholas Cage plays the role he's best at, the strong silent hero type, and it works extremely well in this movie. His character actually reminded me a lot of Dr. Goodspeed from The Rock. It seems to be the type of role almost scripted for him especially. All of the characters were superbly acted, and there wasn't really anything that was over the top.

The movie itself is classified as a thriller, and I disagree with that, it's more akin to a dark comedy. It doesn't exactly keep you on the edge of your seat, but it does keep you very interested in the story. It's a simple movie that does very well.
