K-Pax is a really hard to pinpoint movie. It's not science fiction, it's not a drama, and it's not a comedy. It's more a combination of all of those. It does it really well. The background to the plot seemed a bit rushed in my opinion. The main character ends up in a mental hospital for pretty much just acting a bit weird. How many people in New York are pretending to be, or are, from another planet anyway? I somehow doubt they all end up being professionally treated just for that.

Other than that little quibble, it's a good movie. It's a not-so-standard movie that could have really fallen into a clich?? that managed to avoid it. Like many Kevin Spacey flicks, it's a bit slow in unfolding. But, like most of his flicks, watching him act makes it worthwhile.
