Ninth Gate, The Release Year: 2000 Average Rating: Last Reviewed On: July 23, 2001 (by Michelle) Michelle's Review: on July 23, 2001 I used ot love Johnny Depp movies. He is a fantastic actor. From Edward Scissorhands, to Ed wood, I love how he used to find the most off the wall type movies. I don't knwo if The Ninth Gate fits into this catagory. It is sort of a Devils Advocate type story, and I thought Devils Advocate was somewhat boring. But the Ninth Gate clearly takes the winning spot there. Not only is it dull, but it makes no sense at all. Often, when i'm confused by a movie, I just figure, well, the plot must be so deep, i'm just not getting it or something, but I don't think that's the case here.
