Escape from New York Release Year: 1981 Average Rating: Last Reviewed On: May 30, 2001 (by Scott) Scott's Review: on May 30, 2001 This movie really belongs in the seventies. It's a classic portrayal of a distant grime future. The city of New York has been turned into a prison. For some bizarre reason, the president (of America, even though he can barely speak understandable English) crashes into the prison of New York. Our hero is sent in to rescue him. All in all, it's a standard seventies sci-fi movie. A silly look at a dark future, an unfulfilling end, and a strange question as to why this movie is so popular to begin with. -- Scott and Michelle |
