It's rare that I watch a movie any more and really fell empathy for the characters. This was a strong exception to that, however.

Perhaps because it's based on a true story, and perhaps because the actors don't have the false ultra-beauty that many actors have in Hollywood, I felt these were real people, suffering through extreme circumstances.

The story is basically about fishermen, who, because of a desperate need for money, find themselves at sea during the one of the most destructive storms ever. It's incredibly well told, and the special effects are incredibly well done. All around, a good movie.

Excellent movie and very gripping story. I've known people who have gone off fishing for the summer doing this very thing. I know it's dangerous-hard work. But I didn't fully understand the pressure on these guys to bring in the fish.

This story was told very well. A real gripping tale. I found myself really wanting these guys to pull through unharmed. And you really feel for the wives left back on land wondering if their men are okay or not. I can't even imagine going through that. Before seeing it, I wasn't sure i'd enjoy this movie, but surprisingly, I loved it. I also found the extras on the DVD really educational and fascinating.
