on March 6, 2001This was a rather good movie. While apparently slightly contversial, because the Americas didn't play a part in retrieving the Enigma devices, the British did.
The special effects, and the shots of the subs, both interior and exterior, seemed to me to be very well done. The acting was solid throughout. My only complaint was that I had trouble following some of the lesser roles, who was who. But, overall, a good movie.
I've heard my opinion will change when I see Das Boot, but for now, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.
