So far, I'd have to say that this is my favorite book in the series. Some of the sub-plots that are brought to fruition in this book are simply amazing. There's one scene in particular where Duncan Idaho essentially has a discussion with himself and an enemy at the same time, amazingly well done, and helped progress the story very well.

(Possible spoiler ahead) My only gripe is the sand trout. These creatures end up playing an important role in this book, and I felt I had missed something about what they are. I may very well have missed the explanation of the Worm's life cycle, but I felt the sand trout were introduced much too late.

That, however, isn't enough to detract from a great book. Great read, and I very much look forward to seeing what happens to Dune.
