on November 12, 2000This very much seemed like a story originally intended to be a short story that got stretched out.
The story is essentially about a girl who gets lost in the woods, and stumbles around for several days, deteriorating to the brink of death.
That's it. There's more in some back plot about the child's parents, and her friend. But there's not much more. Most of the story read like a survival guide for the woods. About a quarter of the way into the story I was really into it, wanting to know if the girl would live or die, but after that I felt it was just dragging on.
Not my cup of tea, I guess.
