Decent movie as far as movies like this are concerned. We rented the DVD so we got to watch the alternate ending, which to be honest, I preferred, but then I tend to get tired of the typical happy Hollywood endings to every movie, so an alternate no-so-happy ending was nice. All in all the movie was good, wasn't dopey like allot of movies of this genre can get, though, it was a little confusing, but not too much so. Had the typical scary movie moments, such as animals popping out of nowhere to scare you, and a rock and roll soundtrack, but it was used successfully I thought, you realize it's standard scary movie flare, but it didn't detract from the storyline too much. Good effects, and enjoyable. Maybe even worth watching again.

Watching this movie, I felt as if I was watching a standard formulaic horror flick. Sure, it was loosely based on a real finding, but nevertheless, it was just a standard horror flick. Complete with loud birds to scare you.

I thought it was decent, though I kept noticing the clock on the DVD player, and feeling the movie was progressing a bit too slow for my tastes. And, the characters seem shallow. For instance, the priest's explanation for leaving his life of science seemed almost laughably simple, as if there was no soul searching involved in his decision.

In the end, I just couldn't get into the movie enough to really enjoy it I suppose.
