2010 Odyssey Two Author: Arthur C. Clarke Average Rating: Last Reviewed On: June 24, 2000 (by Scott) Scott's Review: on June 24, 2000 This is a very interesting continuation of 2001. The makers of the monolith are revealed in a little more detail, all through the thoughts of what's left of David Bowman. It is thought provoking to deal with the alien race. Though, I thought the creation of a new sun in our solar system was a tad bit unrealistic. I have trouble believing that it wouldn't upset the delicate balance of life on our planet too much for it to continue without severe problems. Though, if I can bow to Clarke's undoubting better knowledge of such things than myself, I can thoroughly enjoy the story. I look forward to seeing where he takes his universe with the next two books. -- Scott and Michelle |
