Well, okay, as much as I don't want to, I'll admit it, this is a funny movie. Though, I'm amazed it only received a PG-13 rating, I don't think I've ever seen a movie with as many sexual references, and crude humor. Much like the first Austin Powers movie, this has a plot, but don't bother trying to make sense of it, even the characters poke fun at some of the decisions made, "Why go back in time to still Austin Power's mojo? Why not just kill him when he's a baby?" It's a fun watch, but hardly worth the price of admission, I'm glad I waited for it on DVD.

I hadn't seen the first Austin Powers movie before I watched the sequel "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged me". Well actually, we had rented the first one about a year ago, but fell asleep watching it. That's not to say it was a bad movie. We we're just very tired and didn't make it through. This time however, We rented the sequel, and stayed awake throughout the entire thing. In fact, not only did I stay awake, I found it really funny.

Mike Myers plays 3 different characters in this film. (Austin Powers, Dr Evil, and Fat Bastard) and is great at all, if not a bit repulsive as Fat Bastard (okay, real repulsive). Heather Graham is great as Felicity Shagwell, and I have to admit that I am glad that Elizabeth Hurley wasn't in the movie very long. And Rob Lowe practically does Robert Wagner better then he does himself!.

One of the best things about this movie for me was the way it rarely takes itself too seriously. A perfect example is when they are explaining the technicalities of time travel. I just love scenes like that, that say "yes we realize just how complicated this issue is, but it's just a movie!". The problem with too many comedies these days In my humble opinion, is that they don't allow themselves to have fun. They aren't "loose" enough. That's one of the best things about "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged me". It is a fun movie, and it comes across wonderfully.
