I wasn't expecting to come home to a road covered in slush, reduced visibility, and snowy hail falling on the twelfth day of spring. It looks like Mother Nature had to get one last winter storm out of her system this year.

If you don't check out our main page much, take a look to see our Mini in all of its glory :)

(Michelle did this; I don't have near the talent to pull it off.)

So we're sitting here watching it snow. Am I missing something, or isn't the snow season supposed to be over by now?

I'm sure everyone will be excited to read this: I now have a Tablet PC and I've discovered how to do animation, so I'm going to start make everyone suffer through my animation skills from time to time. Heck, I might even finish Quackers one day.

Ticket To Ride is coming to Xbox Live Arcarde.

I sense much wasted time coming.

Scientists have created a superconductor that works at room temperature.

I just want to know if this will lead to comedic adventures for a blind person and a deaf person.

Sadly, Arthur Clarke has passed away.

His works had a great impact on me growing up, and he will be missed. I should reread the Rama series again, for me that will always be the best example of what Science Fiction should be.

Stargate and Tablet PCs  (3/10/2008 7:23 pm)

We finally got around to watching a couple of older episodes of Stargate Atlantis last night. Of course, since I'm me, the one thing I fixate on is the over abundance of Tablet PCs in the Stargate Atlantis universe. What I found memorable, though, isn't the cute little product placement they've had running for years on the show. No, it's what they do with them.

When it comes time to give the evil bad alien some information to progress a plot point, how do they do it? Do they print up the information and hand it over? Do they just spew a line of technobabble? Do they send him an email over some sort of universe-wide internet? No, they give him a Tablet PC loaded with the information. I'd just like to say I'd love to live in a world where Tablet PCs are handed around like random scraps of paper.

Star Trek: New Frontier jumping media  (3/4/2008 5:46 pm)

I've been on a quest for some time now to read all the Star Trek books. One day, I may even try to explain to everyone why I'm doing it, but for now, suffice it to say, I've read a lot of Star Trek books.

One of my favorite series has been Star Trek: New Frontier. It's a series of books about a crew that only exists in the books. It allows the authors (mostly, the author, Peter David) a lot of freedom while exploring around in the Star Trek universe. It's extremely well done, and I highly recommend it.

Well now they've gone and thrown a monkey wrench in my personal quest: The next stories of Captain Mackenzie Calhoun and his crew will continue in comic-book form. I'll read them because I like New Frontier so much. But does this now mean I need to read all the Star Trek comics to complete my quest? Ugh.
