Red, White, and *Boom!*

So we got some fireworks this year for the first time since Scott and I have been together. It's not that we don't like fireworks, they were just illegal at our old apt. But here in the new house, you can pretty much do what you want. So we got a few and instead of just listening to the neighbors make a bunch of noise like last year, we joined in and made some of our own. Sadly, the evening was less a celebration, and more a tribute to our lost friend, but nonetheless, there's nothing quite like blowing stuff up when you need to let some things out. Good Wishes

Just want to send some good wishes into the webosphere for a friend of ours who was in a terrible car accident yesterday. The guy gets sent to Afghanistan, survives that, then comes home and gets badly hurt. Life is just fucking absurd sometimes.

Here's hoping he recovers quickly and completely.
